3D animations in application for Somfy exhibition stand

Commissioned by Somfy, in close collaboration with Pitchkoff Standbouw, we have delivered a kiosk application including three 3D animations.

The 3D animations are called up in 3 different languages on touch screens. These have become part of the exhibition stand during the Polyclose exhibition in Ghent from January 15-17, 2020.

Somfy products ensure that curtains, roller blinds, sun blinds etc. open or close automatically, depending on the settings that can be managed with an app or remote control. An alarm system can be set up the same way.

The video is intended for technicians to get an impression of the advanced possibilities of Somfy’s products.

Video impression

Through 3 different 3D animations, each covering a different part of the day, the benefits the products of Somfy were presented.

Persona: Jack

The lead role is for Jack who shows various applications from the moment he wakes up, via his work, until he goes back to sleep after a pleasant evening.

Storytelling

Jack’s story is incorporated in the columns in which the touchscreens are mounted. Sound showers hang above it to ensure optimum sound, especially where the video is viewed, while there is no disturbance right next to it. The unique thing about the exhibition concept is that the exhibition stand itself is divided into 3 parts, in line with the three parts (videos) of the story.

Here you can see some images of the exhibition setup and some renders from the video: Morning, to and at work and back home in the evening.
